Cormorant on a Buddha statue

A great cormorant sits on the head of a Buddha statue on the island of Noshima in the Seto Inland Sea in the city of Imabari. The statue stands on a rocky outcrop and other islands are visible across a stretch of blue sea. The Buddha is covered in bird excrement.
